Wha?! Another Apple Media Event Already?
Apple just announced another special Media Event scheduled for October 12 at the California Theater in San Jose. This one is titled “One More Thing…”.
The last special event on September 7 saw the introduction of the iPod Nano, the iTunes-enabled Motorola ROKR, Madonna’s discography available on iTMS, Kanye West rapping, and the all popular Harry Potter series as audiobooks.
What’s in store for this event? Can’t wait to hear Steve Jobs’ famous words, “there’s one more thing…”.

Yep, word on the street is mixed but a video iPod is the frontrunner. But looking at the invitation to the special event, there’s strong indication that movies are central to this. Movies on a video iPod, but also selling movies or videos on-line is also a possibility. The iTunes Music Store could become the iTunes Media Store instead.
So you buy music, movies, or videos from iTMS. You can watch/listen on your computer or transfer to your newer iPod that has video out. Connect this iPod to your TV and watch your movie/video that way. Or how about a new AirPort Express wireless device with video out. Connect that to your home stereo system and watch movies streamed over the wireless network to your TV. I got the AirPort Express connected to my stereo for music and it works great. Adding video is the next logical step.
And, all in time for Christmas buying!
