Freedom to Be Me
On the morning news, saw a clip about a Samsung commercial starring South Korean pop star, Lee Hyo-lee, and North Korean star, Cho Myong-ae. The cultural differences between the “peers” is a pretty interesting comparison.
In real life interviews, the North Korean Cho can’t understand why the South Korean Lee would want to color her hair and wear non-traditional clothes. In response, Lee simply says that she has the freedom to make these decisions.
Ah, the freedom to be yourself. So what if I wear Nike Dunk Vapors and a green Mountain Dew shirt. I got the freedom to be me!

C’mon people, this is a significant cultural event that is a step towards the unification of two diverse nations. This isn’t a beauty contest!
Besides, what kind of poll would only have 2 choices? That’s not enough shallow choices for the readers of pulpconnection! Maybe something like who’s your favorite internataional hottie would be a better poll?
;p

Yes, unification is a very important event. I constantly worry about the ramifications of a united Korea and how it will affect the United States and our foreign policy. Nah, we want hot chicks!
