Blog Creation Decisions
While I like ecto and use it to create these Blogger posts, it does have its idiosyncrasies which get annoying. Stuff like messing up ordered and unordered lists and adding extra linefeeds. I wanted to give MarsEdit a try, especially since they have a new version out. Initially, MarsEdit had issues with Blogger as well, but it looks like the new version has taken care of that.
Now Apple has released iWeb and Karelia has their Sandvox beta out. What to do? Plus, I want to start categorizing posts which is not available in Blogger. Switch to WordPress?
Here’s a good start at comparing the various tools, and Apple created a fictitious .Mac blog showing what iWeb can do.

Hi Gee Why, TikiPundit here posting from an anonymous (weird) location.
I used WordPress and admired its flexibility but didn’t see it meeting my needs. I wanted to post content and not get wrapped up in technical anal-retentive details and so it wasn’t too satisfying, although it is very good.
I’m still looking, myself, and will check out the iWeb you mentioned. Mahalo!

TikiPundit, thanks for the comment. Yeah, I don’t want to get caught up in the tech details of WP, but it is a solid product.
I don’t think there’s much flexibility or extensibility in iWeb. For now, I would think what you get is what you get. I doubt you could hack iWeb products?
