It’s Final. The Drew Crew Wins Dancing with the Stars.
Pure joy, passion, and camaraderie. These traits marked a great finals of Dancing with the Stars where the Drew Crew of Drew and Cheryl won the championship. In a surprise turn of events, fan favorite Jerry Rice edged out Stacy Keibler for second place.
All the original performers returned for an encore, and I must say the fans and the judges made the right elimination choices. Kenny Mayne and Master P still can’t dance a lick.
In this final week of performances, all the finalists learned and showed something new. Jerry Rice finally got it. He understood the joy of his performances, and it showed with his best dances ever. His last dance was his best with excellent footwork and smoothness. Stacy’s final dance routine would have placed her at the top with the judges had she done it on Thursday. She learned to take a chance and included risky moves that challenged her. Her final dance included tough moves and livin la vida loca energy. The Drew Crew continued their balance of showmanship, excitement, and chemistry in their final dance. What did Drew learn? He learned how to win, how to be a champ, and how to get out of Nick’s shadow.
Notes: I thought the order of performances should have been different. Jerry went first on Thursday and on Sunday – a big disadvantage. Going first almost assures you won’t be getting scores of 10. To be fair, Jerry should have gone second or third on Sunday. Cheryl Burke may have been the best overall partner for this Dancing with the Stars series. I think her choreography is fun and exciting (Drew strumming her like a guitar then leaping over her) and she’s got the look. Stacy’s got her long legs and toned abs, Anna is fit but doesn’t have that sex appeal, but Cheryl, she’s busty and curvy – KA POW! Lastly, what’s with Mary J Blige singing on the show. Just didn’t match.
