Google Stock $500!!
Whoa, Google’s stock is now valued at over $500 a share. Most impressive.
If you haven’t tried out any of Google’s other services, take a look to see where the future is headed. A coworker and I played around with Google Docs to check out its simultaneous editing feature. It was way cool and made us wonder why this wasn’t done before. What’s impressive about Google is that their products aim to redefine the game rather than simply improving the existing one. A web-based word processor? Not good enough. Add in simultaneous editing and RSS notifications of updates. Neato.

You know, I’ve been using Writely for a while now… and though it’s great, there are a few issues I have with it, most notably is it’s buggy with bold, italics, etc.
You should take a look at Zoho as well, they have an impressive suite of software (more than Googs)…
I’m waiting for Googs to get a powerpoint software and then put this all on their appliance…
Interesting, I had this convo with a co-worker… Googs is killing in the market, but to me, Yahoo is making the right moves; ie delicious, flickr. They just need to shore up their infrastructure (ie, I can’t use my yahoo name on delicious), and brand things a little better. I think if they killed off some of their divisions and focused on a few key products, they’d be better off. I do wish I hadn’t sold Googs at $100. Damnit. 🙂

Hmmm, have to keep an eye out for these bugs. Haven’t tried Zoho but while they may have a more impressive suite, Google has the trust of the people and the name recognition.
PowerPoint? Man, that’s the bane of information management! There’s no way to manage/capture/understand info that’s in PPT. People throw so much junk in PPT files then want it shown on a web page. Yikes!
Wish something like S5 could do the job.
Yep, the Google software needs to be buyable so you can install behind your org’s firewall. Life would be much better.
Yahoo and Google have different focus it seems. Looking at Yahoo’s stuff, they seem to be heading up the social/community front while Google is more towards collaborating (Writely, JotSpot, Blogger, etc.). But that’s just a quick assessment off the top of my head.
I’m glad I bought Google stock at $200. 🙂
