Ice Cream at Farrell’s
Went to eat at the re-opened Farrell’s at Windward Mall, not once, but twice in the recent weeks. The inside is pretty small, and it doesn’t seat that many people. There’s a side room for large parties and a small area where you can buy toys and knickknacks.
The food is your standard fair, but don’t get the teri chicken sandwich. It’s a waste of time with teri sauce covering a regular chicken fillet.
The main reason why you go to Farrell’s is, of course, for the ice cream. A banana split please!
How about a 30-scoop Mauna Kea Fudge Volcano? I think that’s a one-man job for the Tabasco Man.

How long was the wait to get a seat? Also, I heard the service is pretty slow there.

The first time was on a weekday so the wait was real short. The second time was on President’s Day. Got there before opening at 11:00 and waited in line so there was no wait, but the line got long.
The service is pretty slow and they need more workers.

It’ll never be the Farrell’s we all remember, but at least someone’s trying. My kids enjoyed our trip there, at least.

do they still bang the drum and sing birthday songs? i remember going to birthday parties there and it was always a coin-flip whether the kids started crying or cheering…

Yeah, the drum is mounted on the wall and they bang it a few times. There were a few birthdays that day so I saw 2-3 different performances by the workers.
Should go there for your birthday!
