Monitoring Dwyane Wade’s Rehab
I’ll be keeping an interested eye out on Dwyane Wade’s rehab of his dislocated shoulder. It’s been two weeks since he started rehab and according to this article, he’s making progress but his return to play timeframe is still unknown.
In the accompanying picture, it’s good to see Dwyane out of a sling already. That’s significant. But he can’t even clap his hands? How’s he going to shoot a jump shot or go for a rebound? He still has several weeks of healing and rehab to do so we’ll have to wait and see.
Still though, I’d rather see Dwyane shut it down for the season and get healthy for next year. Now that the Heat are doing well and winning, it’ll be tougher to come to that conclusion. If the Heat tanked and looked like they would miss the playoffs, shutting it down for the year would have been an easier decision.
On a related note, Dwyane Wade’s official web site is having a poll about Wade’s productivity when he returns to play. The current poll results are as follows:
- He will only contribute in spot minutes – 17%
- He will lead the team in scoring – 75%
- He will get hurt again – 8%
