Club 939’s 2nd anniversary of bringing the heat to Hawaii starts on Friday, and you can be my guest! The local management of 939 has made a VIP list for the loyal readers of Pulpconnection that gets you free admission to the frivolity. Just say you’re on Gee Why’s guest list. Or, is this really a ploy to meet the Angry Asian Girl?

And speaking of the Angry Asian Girl, she unknowingly started an interesting discussion about former beauty queen winners finding local success in other ventures. Case in point, Olena Rubin as a news reporter for KHON. Then there’s Malika Dudley on KGMB and Erika Kauffman who’s doing public relations work.

Can anyone explain the hiring of Justin Cruz to do the weather?
