    Yeah, we had (maybe have) a bunch of them in my mom’s cabinet.

    Only know that they could be taken back for some type of credit. Didn’t realize that there was a deposit though.

    My assumption is that it’s a recycling kind of thing. Maybe helping to save the earth? =)

    I think it’s a way for them to make more money. They know that most people probably won’t bring the tins back or forget to bring them back so that means the customer is ultimately paying for the tin and giving the restaurant more profit.

    Or…it could be a means to keep the prices of their pies down by making the customer pay for the tin.

    it’s also a very good tactic to bring the customer back to buy another pie!
