Hung Goes All the Way on Top Chef!
Season Three of Top Chef is over, and Hung has done it, going all the way! In the kitchen, he was the most talented technically, but his cold, competitive demeanor also made him the most despised chef. Despite getting the least amount of votes in Bravo’s Top Chef poll, he still beat out a surging Dale and fan favorite Casey with a mistake-free and balanced final meal.
Casey just didn’t have it in the finale. Not sure what happened to her. I thought it would be between Hung and Casey for the championship, but Casey’s dishes didn’t win over any of the judges. Yeah, she looked flustered on the show, but a big factor had to have been Dale’s strong finish. In the first round of the finals, Dale’s cauliflower comeback gave him a huge confidence boost that he carried into the second round winning two courses of the final meal.
Everything simply came together for Hung in the finals. Getting paired with Rocco DiSpirito and Sara was divine. Rocco and Hung’s cooking styles and flavors were complementary and knowing he’d have issues working with former Top Chef contestants CJ and Howie, Hung luckily draws Sara as his sous chef. With the freedom to cook the kind of food he wanted, Hung combined his skills and his passion, created fabulous dishes, and deservedly won the title of Top Chef.
Hey, I didn’t know Hung knew Wolverine!
