Adam Is Ousted
Okay, so Adam Carolla doesn’t have the skill to win it all in Dancing with the Stars, but he does bring an entertainment factor to the show. However in Week 4, Adam Carolla and partner Julianne Hough were eliminated after a funny as heck paso doable featuring Adam’s entry on a unicycle. Just watch…
And Adam’s comment about wardrobe dressing him like a silent film porn star?! Adam, your comments will be missed.
Season 6 has gone into overdrive with excellent performances led by Kristi Yamaguchi. The training wheels are off and the eight remaining couples are all in it to win it. Kristi’s paso was technically superior, but Head Judge Len Goodman knows Kristi’s kryptonite of dancing similarly in each performance. Kristi has to show more variety and open herself up to show progress to win.
Priscilla Presley is impressive, not only with her dances but with all the subtle related things. I think she’s gotten a fashion makeover as the show’s gone on. Her makeup is lighter, not that goth look early on, and she looks way better (and younger). Although she’s not going to reveal as much skin as her younger competitors and pros, her skin-toned dress was alluring. And the lift she and Louis did? I think it was a calculated risk that they willingly took to send a signal. She just told the audience and her younger competitors that this elder stateswoman can do the risky, tough moves.
Marlee Matlin and Fabian continue to show improvement, but at some point in time, the unintended shield of her deafness will be broken. Skill-wise, the couple are not making enough strides to take the top spot.
Who are making the jumps, upping their games? That would be Cristian de la Fuente (and Cheryl Burke) and Shannon Elizabeth (and Derek Hough). Both couples made solid improvements with Shannon and Derek getting the first 10 score from Len for the entire season. Cristian and Cheryl’s dracula/dominatrix paso was powerful. Shannon and Derek’s pre-dance intro showing Derek’s injury set a great stage for a touching comeback with the Viennese Waltz.
Mario and Karina got back to their dancing ways, but like Kristi, Mario was chastised for dancing with a singular style. Jason Taylor and Edyta continue to match up with Kristi Yamaguchi, tying her score of 29.
Marissa Jaret Winokur pulled a Jeannie Garth with her paso. Totally decimated last week, she fought back to win over the judges. But, I’m still thinking it’s too little too late for her.
So Adam’s ousted and somewhere, former two-time DWTS champion, Cheryl Burke, is smiling with the elimination of current two-time champ Julianne Hough.
