Naveen Andrews and a Long Lost Hawaii Legend
At lunch today, my brother-in-law comes hurrying up and tells me to grab my (ever present) camera. “That guy from LOST is here. The one who’s a bad mother…”
“Shut your mouth,” I say. “Sayid’s here?” So off I go, looking for Naveen Andrews. Sure enough, there he was walking around, doing some shopping. A simple request and a snap of the camera, and we have…
While Naveen thrills millions of viewers on LOST week to week, what also caught me by surprise at this chance meeting was the sight of a long lost Hawaii legend. Assisting Naveen with his shopping was, I assume, a personal shopper of the store. Seeing this guy again brought back forgotten memories. I don’t know his name, but I remember his face and his well coiffed look. This guy has been in the game for a long time, going back to the men’s shoe department at Liberty House Pearlridge.
Over the years, I don’t know how many pairs of shoes I bought from this fashionista. Heck, I probably bought my Nike Huarache basketball kicks in high school from him. Work shoes, dress shoes, casual shoes, you name it, he was there. Many from the Leeward side were probably assisted by his shoe horn.
In the recent years though I didn’t see this guy around so it was good to see that he was still doing his thing though moving to a new locale and perhaps expanding his scope to include all fashions. Me and Naveen thank this long lost Hawaii legend for his continued passion for fashion.

wow… Naveen must be a crazy shopper… today my girlfriend and I were shopping in kahala mall and sure enough we saw Naveen with his child and looked like girlfriend… but i wasnt sure. He had these sunglasses and didnt look like he was in a good enough mood to have some big "Lost" fans come up and greet him.. I was still unsure if it was him because I have never seen a celebrity out and about before… but I was sure of it with his strong british accent!! maybe next time 🙁

must be a shopper, only time I've seen him was out shopping. Saw him at the Lego Store last month. Yeah, I try not to bother the celebrities if they don't look in the mood or if crazy crowds would swarm.
