Hi, sorry this comment is irrelevant to this post, but pertains to your post about Oceanic Tivo SDV cards. What did you discuss with customer service to get them to waive the installation charge? I am having my install done on Friday, and would like to negotiate the installation charge as well. Thanks!

Steven, when I got my letter about SDV from Oceanic, it mentioned no additional charge for the tuning adapter. I don’t recall the exact discussion with customer service (sorry) but think it centered around the fact that Oceanic was bound to provide tuning adapters to their customers.
At the time, it took awhile to get someone who knew the situation with SDV tuning adapters, CableCards, etc. Things might have changed now as well as their pricing policy.
