Trouble with Emptying Trash in Mac OS X
Had this problem emptying the Trash in Mac OS X Snow Leopard:
The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003).
Gigs of space were used by my non-emptying Trash. Came across this FAQ about the Trash in OS X which recommended the utility Trash It. Trash It lived up to its name, wiping out all the items in the Trash. Yay!

First time for me too, did disk utility repair permissions, booted of a system CD and repaired the disk. Ran Onyx maintenance scripts and nothing worked until Trash It!
