Ramping Up the Holiday Shopping
Went to Ala Moana on the Black Friday weekend to start the holiday shopping craziness. Here’s some of what I saw.
Free coffee from Nordstrom’s eBar (if you had an email invitation). Really though I wanted to try their Italian Mocha.
Although some of the stores were already open, the LEGO store was not. Had to wait a few minutes in the rain while drinking my coffee.
The wait was worthwhile since I found new LEGO City sets for Christmas gifts.
I then headed upstairs on the new-ish wooden stairwell. There’s now some netting to protect climbers from the rain.
Footlocker had some fresh gear like this Gary Payton “Glove” inspired AF1s.
And these socks for ballers.
In the Apple Store, it seems lighting is a holiday fad.
How about a smart basketball that retains stats? I’d rather have the baller socks.
What say you, Princess Leia or Daenerys Targaryen?
Of course, with all this shopping, we qualified for a commemorative Santa bobble head.
How’d you fare on Black Friday (weekend)?

How was that Italian Mocha? How are their drinks overall? I actually just went there for the first time about two weeks ago and had their almond roca latte. I thought it was ok, I guess I was hyped by the name more than anything.
I think we’re going to start going there more till the new year since the lone Starbucks in Macy’s seems more slammed as usual this holiday season. Also, since they blocked the entrance in Macy’s I don’t want to stand outside in the elements. The eBar at Nordstrom always seems to have not too long of a wait.
Probably try the half and half mocha next time. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Actually, haven’t tried it but sounds good. I don’t mind their drinks, usually getting a cinnamon-infused Mexican Mocha since this is the only place that has it on the menu. I’ve tried a few others, nothing great. I do like the fact that they are empty and have two locations. I thought Aroma Caffe was better but now they’re gone.
Yeah, I just noticed the Macy’s blockade and forgot about the closed Sears Starbucks.

Cinnamon-infused mexican mocha? I’ll have to try that. Yeah, definitely a loss when Aroma left. Hopefully when the Ewa wing reopens there’ll be an ewa wing Starbucks to alieviate the line at the Macy’s one.
