Service Animals Are Not Pets
From what I understand, there’s a market to make and sell service animal garments to disguise regular pets. Then pet owners can bring their beloved pets into stores with them. I guess that’s why Don Quijote has this sign out front.
Also, the ADA defines “service animals” clearly. Here’s one important takeaway point:
Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

So you, by definition, would not qualify as a “service animal”. Your sole function of comfort and emotional support for my guwapo-ness clearly disqualifies you. Even though in the eyes of some, you do qualify as a “dog”. 😉
