Don’t Care for the Vocal Pairings of Kirk and Kathy

This week, Kathy Muneno made her debut on the KHON2 Morning News, replacing Tannya Joaquin. I don’t know about you, but I don’t really care for the vocal pairing of Kathy and Kirk Matthews. To me, they sound very similar with a muted, kinda stuffy nose tone.

There’s no contrast between their voices like Kirk and Tannya had, creating an overall monotone sound. This was accented when Kathy introduced a story that Tannya did. When hearing Tannya’s familiar voice, you heard its distinctness and appreciated the vocal variation it lent to the show.

On a side note, Kathy doesn’t have her bio on the KHON2 web site yet. Where’s the “new” in the KHON “news” site? 🙁
