An Illiterate American Idol

Wow, Fantasia Barrino, the winner of American Idol in 2004, admitted that she’s functionally illiterate. Having difficulty reading street signs or newspapers, she had to fake her way through scripted Idol rehearsals and doesn’t know what’s in the legal contracts she signed.

To her credit, she’s now learning to read so that she can read a book to her 4-year old daughter.
