I Got No Cactus Plant
Do you see a common theme going on here?
So of course, following this trend, when the Nike collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market dropped this morning, I got another no.

So I’m still bummed about missing out on the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 for the third time. But I can take some solace in knowing that I actually do own a Cactus Jack labeled Air Jordan. This is the lowkey pair but probably the most performance-based model via the Air Jordan 33.
Still though, I wouldn’t mind the AJ1 version, either high or low tops.
Let’s just say this day has been a rough one. All in all, it’s just another Saturday but from a copping kicks standpoint, I got donuts. Nada. Zilch. So what better way to commemorate this than by eating some donuts. But you know what kind of day this has been right?
Of course, there were no donuts left. OF COURSE!
Bottom line: I didn’t get a pair of the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 that released on Nike SNKRS. I was there, and I was ready with three phones and three accounts. But I got hit with error after error just trying to navigate the purchasing process. Apple Pay didn’t register. I think I mistyped my credit card CVV which I think really messed me up. I was asked to re-enter passwords. I couldn’t pick sizes and this was the worst – getting denied access.
I think this was triggered when I switched my phone from wifi to LTE. I think Nike really clamped down for this release and any change or any out of the ordinary activities triggered a ban. After I changed my phone back to wifi, I could access SNKRS but the damage was already done. SOLD OUT.
So after that, I put this on and went for a run.
I will not be getting any Jordan 1 collaboration with Travis Scott.
Living in Hawaii, you have to accept a few things. One of these is the higher cost of shipping items to the aina. Take, for example, this Funko Pop of his Airness, Michael Jordan. Although now reduced in price from $12.50 to $9.00, the shipping cost is truly cost prohibitive.
Yes, you’re seeing that right. It’ll cost about $24 to ship a $9 item (that weighs less than one pound) to Hawaii. Luckily, Hot Topic allows you to ship to a local store that’s at a more reasonable cost.
I also was not the one who supposedly got the last size 9 of the Nike + Tom Sachs Mars Yard (Overshoe) High Tops from Mr. Porter.
Nope, I wasn’t the one who supposedly got the last one of these Funko Pop Michael Jordans with free shipping from Fanatics.com.
There it goes, the last of my Yeezy 350 True Forms. Launched in Europe, I’m glad that many European retailers ship to the US, but it’s my American fault for not learning the European shoe sizes. Otherwise a True Form would have been a personal keeper if I knew that size EUR 44 2/3 equaled a US 10.5. Instead I ended up with a size EUR44 which is a US 10 and since the 350 run small, it’s more like an uncomfortable 9.5 for me.
Is this becoming a theme? No Frogs, no FOGs, and now no Jacks. Oh BTW, Happy Birthday Travis Scott!
To commemorate being 28 years old, good old TS let go a few more pairs of his Cactus Jack Air Jordan 1. I thought I had a chance but no, that top tier stuff still eludes me. I was in queue to checkout for so long but now that I think about it, I should have used several browsers to increase my odds. That’s my bad, and my bad looks like this.
I didn’t realize this was my third strikeout on the Cactus Jack Jordans. There was the initial drop then the Grammy drop, now this birthday surprise. There’s one opportunity left on May 11 and even though there are a lot of retailers, those familiar names didn’t work out with the FOGs.
Literally, I have no Fear of God (FOG). Nike and designer Jerry Lorenzo are at it again partnering the swoosh with FOG and releasing two original silhouettes, the odd Moc and the old school Raid. Yes, that Air Raid with the signature criss-crossed double straps and made for the outdoor court. But the FOG Raid has been refined and retooled in the FOG style. But from the recent drop, I have neither.
Okay, so I discounted the Moc at the outset focusing only on the Raid. I struck out on Nike SNKRS which was a bad sign. A common size selling out that fast was surely an indicator. Then every drop after that was miss after miss. Even overseas shoe sellers didn’t help me. Restocks were missed along with later drops by Undefeated and xhibition. It was ugly (and sad).
It was so sad that I needed consolation in the form of a Coke Zero Orange Vanilla.
And I gotta say that this new drink is very good. Wouldn’t think so, but this combination is a winner. Would have been better along with a FOG Raid though.
And if you’re keeping score, I have no Frogs and no FOGs.
Captchas are supposed to help distinguish people from software bots by asking visual questions that only real humans can supposedly answer. But this one stumped me.
Do you see any motorcycles in the above image? I guess you should call me Mr. Roboto.
If you missed the Nike SB Dog Walker release on Bonkers yesterday, go back and take a look what’s there today. Just don’t actually make a purchase otherwise it seems like you’ll actually get a pair of old socks!
