These Are Jordans?
Okay, these are not THE Air Jordans but are of the Jordan family of shoes.
Yes, those are velco straps on the Air Jordan Retro 1 Low. Talk about real old school.

After the 23rd edition of the Air Jordans, I thought Nike would stop the AJ legacy after reaching his Airness’ jersey number. Nope. The Jordan Brand rolls on with the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 2009.
What better way to show love for the eternal Air Jordans than releasing them on Valentine’s Day 2009?
Pics of the Air Jordan 3 and Air Force One fusion aka AFJ3.
The best of both worlds!

If you missed getting your pair of the Air Jordan XX3 this past week, don’t worry. There will be other chances coming up. Check out this white, black, and gold colorway expected on April 5.

How did your hunt for the Air Jordan XX3 go? Did you manage to get a pair of the black/stealth general releases? If you went to the Ala Moana Footlocker you had to get there early. According to one of the workers, there was a line, but they still had one size 8 left as of lunchtime on Saturday.
Otherwise, there was no trace of the AJ XX3 in the store except for these…
For me, Footlocker.com had my back.

The general release of the Air Jordan XX3 is set for today, February 23, but how hard will it be to find a pair in Hawaii? I called Niketown Honolulu on Friday and while no line had yet formed, the employee said she wouldn’t be surprised if there were a line come Saturday morning. Niketown didn’t reveal how many pairs of XX3s they had, but they were promoting the XX3 release at their 10th Anniversary celebration on Friday night.
Footlocker Ala Moana is probably the place that will get the second most Jordans. They open at 9:30. Footlocker Pearlridge Downtown said they only have 6 pairs to sell (I’m guessing 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5?). Footlocker Pearlridge Uptown said they didn’t have any, but if the smaller Downtown location got some, the bigger Uptown has got to have some XX3. Don’t even try the Windward Mall Footlocker, they don’t got none. Didn’t check with the newer Waikiki location.
Kicks Hawaii supposedly ain’t getting any AJ XX3, and I didn’t even bother with any Champs locations since I still think their business practices are a bit shady. Didn’t check any of the military locations like the NEX but oftentimes, they surprise you with their selection.
If you can’t find any XX3 locally, they can still be found online. Footlocker.com has them if you’re willing to pay $15+ for shipping. Niketown.com is now advertising the latest Jordans with free ground shipping (which I don’t think Hawaii qualifies for, but you never know).
Good luck!
Was watching Airborne, a history of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, when I saw a commercial narrated by Michael Jordan called Look Me in the Eyes. These Become Legendary commercials are part of the marketing blitz for the releases of the latest Air Jordan XX3.
Trying to find the music that’s playing in the background. Like the NBA’s Amazing commercials featuring Everyday by Carly Comando, these piano scores are mesmerizing. Kinda sounds like something by Philip Glass, like Metamorphosis/Metamorphosis One (Instrumental) on Solo Piano but a little different.

Wow, that was fast. Even before they officially go on sale on January 25, the Niketown in Chicago has sold out of its allotment of the titanium/university blue AJ XX3. The crazies waiting in line during freezing temperatures were given vouchers and told to come back on Friday.
The love and passion of shoe heads never cease to amaze!

The limited edition titanium/university blue Air Jordan XX3 drops on Friday, January 23, 2008 at 23 selected retailers, but Jordan lovers in Hawaii will be getting the shaft.
Supposedly these 23 stores were chosen for being Jordan top sellers. I thought a Hawaii location like its Niketown or Ala Moana Footlocker might have an outside chance with its tourist connection and the local kicks fan base. I guess not.
Here’s the geographic breakdown for the lucky 23 locations:

Nike’s next release of retros includes some classics like Charles Barkley’s Air Force Max CB and the infamous Zoom Flight 95 that JKidd wore.
Air Force Max CB (non original colorway).
UH standout Anthony “AC” Carter also wore the Zoom Flight 95 which K5VE announcer Jim Leahey called futuristic and space age.
And just in time for Halloween comes the Air Jordan 8 Retro in a “Peapod” colorway. Limited availability for this AJ retro.
Footlocker is having yet another F&F sale this weekend. Get 30% off your purchases from 9/30 to 10/2. Also usable at Champs Sports. Gear up for the Honolulu marathon with new running shoes or just kick it with a new pair of Jordans like these Retro XIV in graphite, chartreuse, and black.
Coupon is here (thanks Wayne’s World).
“Lifestyle” themes appear to be the latest trend in marketing. Safeway is renovating its stores with its Lifestyle look with the Hawaii Kai branch being the first in Hawaii. I guess with the Safeway Lifestyle remodeling comes the chocolatey fruity goodness of Coffeemate’s Chocolate Raspberry creamer. Went to the old school Safeways in Aiea and Kailua, and none of these had the goods.
Nike’s Jordan Brand also introduced its Lifestyle lineup featuring Carmelo Anthony, Quentin Richardson, and Terrell Owens. This clothing campaign is inspired by the early days of MJ and “challenges us to learn the Jordan Way of Life by being authentic, never compromising, earning excellence and aspiring to greatness.” Corny, yeah, yeah, I know.
Sadly though, I think if you saw Jordan’s Lifestyle trio (sports reputation aside) walking the aisles of your local lifestyled Safeway, you’d think you have to change your lifestyle, or at least markets. I’m just saying.
