Back in 2006, Team Jordan released an exclusive Thunder and Lightning Air Jordan 4 set. This Fall get ready for more thunder and possibly, a second strike of lightning. The re-release of the Black Thunders has been announced which may be followed by the Yellow Lightning.
I guess Nike didn’t listen to Pixar’s Lightning McQueen who knows that thunder always comes after lightning. Ka-chow!
The Air Jordan 4 was retroed in a Thunder and Lightning pack back in 2006. The 2012 Olympic Games bring a thunder and lightning rendition of the Air Jordan 6 and 7. Dubbed the Golden Moments Pack, this set includes an Air Jordan 6 in white and gold and an Air Jordan 7 in black and gold.
$350 for this piece of Olympic kicks history. Available August 18, 2012.
It’s a sad day when you have to retire your kicks from your wardrobe rotation. Even sadder is the day when you have to get rid of unwearable kicks. Such was earlier this week when I said good bye to some favorites.
What do you see? Yes, those are the Air Jordan XIII, And1 Tai Chi, Air Max Penny IV, Tuned Air running shoes, and a pair of B&W Air Max Uptempo buried under the rest. And here’s a closeup of another favorite, the Nike 6453, that’s completely falling apart on the underside.
A sad day indeed.
If the Grammy Awards recognized the best kicks in a musical performance then the award would have definitely gone to Eminem and Lil Wayne. During their Grammy night performance of Drake’s Forever, Eminem rapped with what looked like Nike Air Max 90s while Lil Wayne rocked the distinctive Air Jordan 11, Space Jam editions.
And yes, Lil Wayne matched his kicks with the lyrics of Forever.
If you happened to be at Foot Locker Ala Moana today, you might have seen some new old additions to the Air Jordan lineup.

Jordan AFJ3 Fusion in black/fire red/cement grey/white. Well the boxes of the delayed shipment stashed behind the counter. No worry, pics of the AFJ3 coming soon!
The revolutionary Air Jordan shoe line is coming to an end with the upcoming release of the AJ XX3 for #23. Interestingly, Jordans typically introduce high tech improvements that filter down to other sneaks, but this time, the Jordans have gone environmental following Nike’s Considered guidelines.
There are three colorways planned starting with a limited edition Titanium Blue XX3.
This guy releases January 25 at limited locations for $230.
The white version comes out on February 16 followed by the black “Stealth” colorway on February 23 (2/23). Both go for $185.
Even though, the visual design of the XX3 hasn’t blown me away, I think I still have to get me a pair just for the significance of the Jordans in the kicks world. 23 years of Jordans coming to an end…
While at Footlocker, I saw the newest Air Jordan retro, the Retro 3 Fire Red colorway. Very nice. An old school favorite that could have started the cement/elephant pattern.
Cost is $125. Sadly, I resisted and passed on these.
Team Jordan is at it again, offering an exclusive Thunder and Lightning package. Featuring the classic Air Jordan 4s in black thunder and yellow lightning colorways, these packages will be extremely limited.

As Mars Blackman said, “It’s gotta be the shoes!” Relive the Air Jordans released over the years at the updated Jumpman23 site.
Ah, such memories. During my playing days, I’ve had the the Air Jordan I, IV, VIII, XI, XIII, and XVIII. I wanna be like Mike
