George is Back on His Beat
Earlier this week, a familiar face was selling newspapers near Castle Medical Center. It was none other than recuperated George Ligman. Though he was mostly sitting, it was good to see George out once again.
Support for George Ligman
According to the Star Advertiser, newspaper hawker, George Ligman, is doing better after being hit by a vehicle. In his absence, his chair has been adorned with signs of support from the community.
Additionally, financial donations for George’s medical costs are being accepted at all branches of American Savings Bank and First Hawaiian Bank.
George Ligman’s Beat
Saddening news to hear about a truck hitting long-time newspaper vendor, George Ligman. Never knew his name until this accident, but George has been out there everyday, all day selling the Advertiser for years.
As I drove by his usual spot, there was his empty chair and repair crews were fixing damage caused by the vehicle.

I’m on TV!
Well sorta. We were at Don Quijote Kailua on their last day of business. The local news stations were there too and filmed me in the background of some clips. Here’s the KHON2 broadcast segment.
Look at the 0:37-0:41 second mark. See the guy wearing the black Air Jordan cap? That’s me walking and loading up the van! Can’t see it? I’ll help you out (click on the images for a larger view).
