The LeBron 12 Lands

I’m not following the reasons for the NSRL (Nike Sports Research Lab) colorway of the newest LeBron James signature shoe, the LeBron 12. But whatever, the LeBron 12 has officially launched.

Seems like LeBron is shedding all kinds of weight in the offseason, not just him but his kicks as well. His shoes from years past were built like a tank, solid and heavy. Reading about the 12, it’s lighter by design and engineered for explosiveness. Speaking of colorways, there are seven variations already slated for release.

Another Air Jordan 3 Hybrid

And another hot seller for Nike. Seemingly any (tastefully done) crossover with the iconic Air Jordan 3 is an instant success with the latest being the Nike Zoom Vapor AJ3. Take the design from the AJ3, apply to the silhouette of the Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour, make a limited quantity available at Nike Labs, and watch the pairs sell out in less than four minutes. When I saw the tweet announcing the Vapor release, it was four minutes old, and the Nike Lab site was already reporting out of stock messages.

Back in the day, I remember the P-Rod with the Jordan elephant print. This was the days before online kicks buying went crazy and just finding this shoe was super hard. I managed to see it in person once. Then came the Air Force 1 hybrid with the AJ3 which I managed to get a pair of and wore while watching President Obama leave in Air Force One.

I wasn’t so lucky with the Vapor AJ3. Just gotta hope a restock happens while you’re online so you have a chance of getting these. Or how about a black version of the Vapor AJ3?

Having Fun with the miZX FLUX App

Hand this one to Adidas. Their new mobile app, miZX FLUX, is a ton of fun. The app simply overlays pictures on a blank silhouette of the Adidas ZX Flux to create your own design (to purchase). Sounds simple but the end results could be stunning. Changing the orientation of the image can get yourself a whole new design. Zoom in, zoom out, have fun.

Digging the Nike SFB Boot

On a random stop at Ross, I came across these Nike shoe/boots. Looking at the bar code, I learned these are the Nike SFB Trainer (#344929-090). The khaki version can be found at Nike.com, but this black version is cool, especially at $35. Only big sizes available though.

Stocked the Air Max Lunar1

It turned out that I only window shopped the Air Max 1 Breathe, returning them after not liking the fit. Then as luck would have it, Nike restocked the AM1 variation called the Lunar1. Think Air Max 1 updated with Lunarlon foam around the Air Max bubble. Now we’re talking – classic look with modern tech. Take a better look…

Instead of the hard feel of the OG AM1 sole, the Lunarlon has a mushier ride but not overly spongy. The taped seams are there along with the improved laces. Not sure what the laces are made of, but I like them. The speckled sole and the yellow accents add enough design, but the photo blue color is the main attraction. Fortunately for my foot, reviews of the Lunar1 complain that sizing is off. Reviewers say to order a half size smaller saying these run bigger. But since the AM1 Breathe was snug for me, the extra space of the Lunar1 is welcomed.

Cross the Air Max 1 off my kicks want list. 🙂

Window Shopping the Air Max 1 Breathe

One of the classic Nike silhouettes that I’ve never owned is the original Nike Air Max 1. The AM1 was never my thing until recently with more and more colorways catching my eye. But I didn’t want to get the AM1 in new colors, I wanted a contemporary version of this classic. That’s when I saw the Breathe line featuring new breathable materials and taped seams.

Unfortunately, this pair just didn’t work out for me. After trying these on, they were on the narrow side and the old school Air Max bubble felt, well, old school. So back these went to Nike.com.

Nike Kaishi at Sports Authority

Looks like Nike is pushing the new Kaishi line to the masses with releases at Sports Authority. Will the “next Roshe” be as popular as the Roshe Run line that shares visual similarities? The Roshes started boutique but then gained widespread popularity, and now you can find them pretty much anywhere. I guess Nike wants the Kaishi to share the same success as the Roshes.
