LeBron James May Be King, But He’s Still a Twitter Rookie
New Miami Heat resident LeBron James is still King James on the hardwood, but in the Twitterverse, he’s still a rookie. Witness a recent tweet fail.
Shout out to @ GreekGoddessATL, @ chasmacmusic, @ deena_doesthis, @ kidnamedjoseph, @ johncrunkiwaite and @ejschoenfeld .
See the spaces between the @ symbol and Twitter names? But in the NBA you learn and adjust quickly, and LeBron did so in his next tweet fixing his @ fails. Go Heat!
King James Tweets
LeBron James aka King James is now on Twitter as @kingjames. He already has almost 90,000 followers with only a single tweet! Here is the first tweet of King James.
Hello World, the Real King James is in the Building “Finally”. My Brother @oneandonlycp3 gas’d me up to jump on board so I’m here. Haaaa
Having Me Some Blackbird Pie
So Twitter’s mechanism for quotable tweets went live today (but is feeling a little stressed right now). With Blackbird Pie, you can enter in the link of a tweet, and you’ll be given an embed code which generates something like this.
@geewhy I see you’re rubbing elbows with the Social Media elite at #nextlevelhi 🙂
Quotable Tweets Coming
This upcoming feature from Twitter would definitely help with twestimonials. Sure would make it easier to maintain Pulpconnection’s twestimonials page.
Awesome NBA Twitterness
This is a neat way to represent Twitter conversations for the NBA playoffs. Nike and Stamen designed this dynamic display that is continually updated based on tweets for these teams. Clicking on a team shows team-specific tweets along with Nike’s family members and their kicks. Try it out here.
Starstruck at the Iolani Fair
What can I say? I’m easily impressed or so it seems since I was starstruck at the past weekend’s Iolani Fair. Who’d I see right after entering faux Rome? Twitter-lebrity @farmershawaii. No, he wasn’t peddling Farmers Hawaii gear but was chillaxing with the family.
Even though the food booth lines were crazy long, I waited for a waffle dog and saw High School Basketball Coach of the Year, Dean Shimamoto, working the booth. Even with a championship, Coach showcased his One Team spirit by volunteering.
Aren’t you impressed by the star quality? No? Then how about this one? Guess who took this pic on the trolley ride over to the Fair? 🙂
Thanks for the Bold, Klout!
Now this was a welcomed surprise. Klout.com tagged me as an influence on Twitter coffee discussions, and as part of a new experimental promotion, gave me samples of Starbucks coffee. Cool!
No, I didn’t solicit Klout for anything, I just blog and tweet about Starbucks… a lot I suppose. So waiting at home, I found a delivery containing Starbucks’ Pike Place Roast, the bold Caffe Verona, and some coupons.
Oh, and since I did receive these goodies free of charge, I have to disclose that fact. But really, how can you complain about getting free goodies about something you enjoy and love? And how can you not appreciate a company for rewarding its customers? So kudos to Klout and Starbucks for a great partnership and promotion!
Now excuse me as a brew my cup of morning coffee. Will it be Pike Place or Verona? 🙂
